Johan Pardoel

Johan joined Capitalmind in May 2017 as Senior Advisor.

His most recent positions include CEO of Action Holding, board member of Sligro Food Group listed on Euronext and managing director of Lekkerland Germany. For most of his career of more than 25 years, he has held international management positions (CEO, Board of Directors) and consulting functions in various sectors of the retail industry such as food, non-food, discount, full service, convenience, B2C, B2B and eCommerce. He has a proven track record in fostering and managing growth, international expansion, M&A and turnaround situations and has experience with both family businesses and public and private equity portfolio companies.

Johan is fluent in Dutch, English, French and German, has professional knowledge of Portuguese and has basic knowledge of Spanish.

Johan started his career at Philips Electronics in logistics and R&D. In 1993 he joined ALDI Discount, where he was responsible for a regional ALDI company in former East Germany, before taking over responsibility for the French ALDI organisation. In 2005 Johan joined Lekkerland as Group Executive Vice President and Managing Director Germany. Three years later, he returned to the Netherlands, where he was responsible for the turnaround of its food retail division as a member of the Board of Directors of Euronext-listed Sligro Food Group. In 2012, Johan was appointed CEO of Action Holding, an international non-food discounter held by private equity.

In the years prior to joining Capitalmind, Johan was responsible for due diligence, M&A, interim CEO and consulting projects in various regions (Australia, South Africa, China/Hong Kong, Brazil, Europe) as an independent strategy consultant for international retail groups, investors and an e-commerce start-up. Since April 2017 Johan has also been working as a business angel with a special interest in start-ups and innovation.

Johan graduated from Tilburg University in 1981 (Master’s degree in Business Econometrics) and participated in the Advanced Management Program at Wharton, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, in 2010.
