Johan Pardoel

Johan joined Capitalmind as Senior Advisor in May 2017.

Recently Johan was inter alia CEO of Action Holding, member of the Board of the Euronext-listed Sligro Food Group and Managing Director of Lekkerland Germany. Most of his 25+ years career he held international executive (CEO , executive board) and advisory roles in various sectors of Retail such as food, non-food, discount, full service, convenience, B2C, B2B and eCommerce. He has a track record in driving and managing growth, international expansion, M&A and turnaround situations and is experienced with family business as well as with public and private equity portfolio companies.

Johan is fluent in Dutch, English, French and German, has a professional proficiency of Portuguese and a basic proficiency of Spanish.

Johan started his career with Philips Electronics in Logistics and F&A. From 1993 on he worked at ALDI Discount where he was in charge of a regional ALDI company in former Eastern-Germany before assuming responsibility for the French ALDI organization. In 2005 Johan joined Lekkerland as Group Executive Vice President and Managing Director Germany. He returned to The Netherlands, 3 years later, where he was responsible as an Executive Board member of Euronext-listed Sligro Food Group for the turnaround of their food retail division. In 2012 Johan became the CEO of the international and private equity-held non-food discounter Action Holding.

For the past years, prior to joining Capitalmind, Johan was responsible in various geographies (Australia, South-Africa, China/Hong Kong, Brazil, Europe) for due diligence, M&A, interim-CEO and consultancy projects as an independent strategy consultant for international retail groups, investors and an eCommerce start-up. Since April 2017 Johan is also active as a Business Angel with a special interest in start-ups and innovation.

Johan graduated from Tilburg University (Master degree in Business Econometrics) in 1981 and participated in the Advanced Management Program at Wharton, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia in 2010.
