About the deal
GUYOT environnement is a French family-owned group specialized in the “green business”, and especially in metal recycling and waste management. With a strong regional footprint in Brittany (14 locations and 280 environment experts), the group generated €102m of revenues in 2018 and processed 500,000 tons of waste.
Hirumet is a Spanish family-owned company based in Atxondo in the Basque Country, dedicated to the recycling of ferrous and non-ferrous scraps. This merger of two companies who share the same core business marks an historical agreement in the development of GUYOT environnement. The acquisition will most notably strengthen the commercial relations with GUYOT’s historical clients on the Iberian Peninsula, while also gaining access to a new foundry market, as well as wider international export markets. This latest international development means GUYOT environnement will manage 400,000 tons of ferrous metal per year, for a turnover of €190m.
