William is Head of the Education sector advisory team in London and also works extensively across the Business Services sector with a particular focus on growth and tech-enabled businesses.

William joined Investec in 2012 and specialises in providing M&A advice to a wide variety of clients including private and public companies, entrepreneurs and private equity funds.

Chris joined Investec in January 2012 having previously been at Evolution Securities and Head of Pan European Energy ECM at Credit Suisse. With over 30 years of experience in Investment Banking, Chris has specific focus on the Energy Sector currently.

He started his career with Barclays NZ and then joined BZW in the UK. Chris is a CA (NZ) and CFA (UK). During the course of his career has worked on a broad range of ECM and M&A transactions.

Kate is Co-Head of Investec’s Private Companies Fundraising team in London, advising ambitious fast-growing companies seeking growth capital, with a focus on the technology and consumer sectors. She typically works with established businesses who have reached £10m+ revenue, seeking £10m+ in funding, offering them access and connections to the right private capital (debt and equity). She offers a focused process, targeting specific and appropriate potential investors ranging from family offices, to VCs, private equity through to larger institutional funds.

Kate enjoys building long-standing client relationships and positioning entrepreneurial businesses to achieve maximum value at their eventual exit point. Kate has had previous roles at Deloitte and finnCap Cavendish with a particular focus on sell-side M&A deals in the consumer sector. She has also spent many years on deal origination, building earlier stage long-term relationships with owners of private companies, intermediaries and investors.

Seb is Head of Technology, Media & Telecoms Investment Banking based in London. He joined Investec in August 2011 and specialises in transactions across the M&A and IPO markets, predominantly for Software, IT Services and Technology Consultancy companies.

Gary leads the Investec Healthcare M&A based in London.

He joined Investec in 1999 and was head of the Healthcare Advisory for Investec’s listed Plc clients for over 15 years.

Gary specialises in transactions across the M&A and IPO markets, predominantly in healthcare services, animal health and funeral services.  Gary also has significant UK Takeover Code experience having advised both offeror and offeree companies over the last 20 years.

Gary is a qualified solicitor and graduated from Stellenbosch University with a B.Com LLB and has an MBA from The Netherlands Business School.

Marc joins Investec from Jefferies, where he spent five years as Head of General Industrials EMEA. He brings almost 30 years’ worth of experience within financial services – having previously held Managing Director roles at Nomura, Richmond Park Partners, Citigroup and KPMG.

He will also bring expert knowledge of the industrials sector, having worked on more than 50 deals with a transaction value in excess of $50bn.

Marc will oversee Investec’s advisory activities on the buying and selling of companies in the industrials sector, including aerospace & defence, automotive, building products, capital goods, chemicals, industrial services and packaging. Key themes include energy efficiency/transition, industrial automation and technology and sustainability.

Ed leads the Services M&A team at Investec and focusses on providing high quality advice to privately owned and private equity-backed businesses. He has over 10 years’ experience of advising across the UK mid-market on a variety of transactions such as sale processes, equity raises, acquisitions and IPOs.

Ed has worked with a broad range of Services clients but has a specific focus on tech-enabled businesses within the areas of professional services; testing, inspection and certification; and fund and trust administration.

Holger Truckenbrodt is a partner at Capitalmind Investec in the international sector Team Industrials with a focus on M&A transactions. His clients are companies from the industrial, mechanical and plant engineering, steel, building products and logistics sectors.

Holger has been advising on transactions in Germany and internationally for over 20 years. His clients range from small and medium-sized businesses, owner-managed family companies and family offices to international groups. He has assisted clients with company sales and acquisitions, carve-outs, succession solutions, IPOs and public takeovers.

Prior to joining Capitalmind Investec, Holger was Managing Director of an M&A advisory firm for small and medium-sized companies, as well as Head of Industrials and Manufacturing at the Royal Bank of Scotland, in investment banking/corporate finance at ABN Amro, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse and in the M&A department of Siemens AG.

Holger holds a degree in business administration from the University of Passau and a degree in banking.

He speaks fluent German and English.

Charles is Head of Investec’s Cross Border Corporate Finance and International Advisory Group and has over 26 years of investment banking experience.

He joined Investec, Capitalmind Investec strategic majority shareholder, in 2017 to lead the bank’s cross border corporate finance business and has advised clients on international transactions around the world, including in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa.

Charles previously worked for Renaissance Capital, Greenhill and Deutsche Bank. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen and graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Degree.

Jonathan is Head of Advisory & Co-Head of Investec’s Private Equity Client Group and has over 17 years of Corporate Finance experience.

Before joining Investec, Capitalmind Investec strategic majority shareholder, Jonathan was previously Managing Director at DC Advisory and Manager at PwC, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

Jonathan graduated from Bristol University with a First-Class Honours degree in Maths & French.

Torsten is a Partner of Capitalmind Investec. He focusses on debt financing solutions for the German Mittelstand across all sectors with particular focus on asset heavy industries such as real estate, solar and wind. Acquisition financings and re-financings round up his profile.

For 20 years Torsten has acted as a trusted advisor to the boards and owners of mid-cap and large-cap but also to private equity companies.

He has completed a variety of complex financings in the form of syndicated loans, mezzanine, Schuldscheindarlehen, private placements, bonds and acquisition financings but also hybrid- and equity raisings. With his truly outstanding investor network he specializes on capital markets focused financing solutions.

Before joining Capitalmind Investec in June 2021, Torsten held several senior positions at leading investment banks such as ODDO BHF Corporates & Markets as Head of Corporate Finance, IKB Deutsche Industriebank, Head of Syndicate as well as Sal. Oppenheim, HVB/UniCredit and the consultancy firm McKinsey.

He holds a master’s degree of business administration from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main and speaks German and English fluently.

Torsten is married and has three children.

Yanik is a Director at Capitalmind Investec.

He has more than 7 years of experience in corporate finance and M&A transactions for listed and privately-held companies, entrepreneurs and financial investors. He advised on numerous transactions focused on the Healthcare and related sectors.

Before joining Capitalmind Investec, he worked as an M&A-Associate at Affentranger Associates. Prior to that, Yanik worked in the corporate finance team of PwC Switzerland where he specialized in the areas of financial analysis, financial modelling as well as corporate valuations. Additionally, he is a founding partner of a specialty coffee farm in Zambia for which he successfully raised funding from various sources.

Yanik holds a Master’s degree from the University of Zurich in Business Administration with a focus on Banking & Finance and is a CFA charterholder. He is fluent in English and German and conversational in French.

Thomas is Managing Partner of Capitalmind Investec and co-founded Capitalmind Investec AG in Switzerland.

He has 18 years of experience in finance, strategic consulting, business development and  entrepreneurial activities with a particular focus on Business Services, Industrials and TMT. Thomas is and has been a member of various boards of directors, including Swiss Cyber Gate AG (young software company) and Clinicum Alpinum AG (privat clinic).

Before Capitalmind Investec, he was providing business development and strategic advice to corporate clients from a range of different industries. Prior, he served as the CEO of an alternative investment group in London and as a business development director in asset management. Thomas started his career as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company in Zurich.

Thomas holds a Master of Arts in Quantitative Finance from University of Zurich and a Diploma in Orchestra Conducting from Berlin University of the Arts.

Thomas is fluent in English and German and speaks French.

Markus is Managing Partner of Capitalmind Investec and co-founded Capitalmind Investec AG in Switzerland.

He has 19 years of experience in international M&A and financing transactions for listed and privately-held firms, entrepreneurs and financial investors, focusing on the healthcare, industrial technology and business services sectors. In addition, he brings extensive experience in strategic and business development for principal investment firms and serves as board member to Pfiffner Group (machining solutions). Markus is fluent in English and German and speaks Italian and French.

Before Capitalmind Investec, he led the corporate finance business of Affentranger Associates (Zurich) for almost ten years as Managing Partner. Before this, he worked for 5 years as Director in investment banking at Alantra (Zurich) and prior to that in corporate finance at Oaklins (Hamburg) and Deutsche Bank (London/Frankfurt).

Markus holds a Master’s degree in Economics from University Bonn and an MBA from SDA Bocconi in Milan.

Bart is a Managing Partner and co-founder of Capitalmind Investec, and has almost 30 years dealmaking experience . He has successfully closed 100+ deals as (co-)lead dealmaker for all types of clients. Bart has a deep understanding of international deal making, notably in the Business Services, Consumer/Food and Industrials sectors. Besides the Benelux, he has lived/worked in France, UK, USA and Hong Kong and he speaks Dutch, English, German and French.

Bart has served on several Boards, including Chairman of Global Board of the worldwide partnership of Capitalmind Investec for 8 years and in the non-executive Board of a Dutch PE firm for almost 15 years.

Before co-founding Capitalmind Investec in 1999, he was responsible for (structured) commodity finance at ING Barings in Eastern Europe and China, where his team was awarded ‘Worlds Best Structured Commodity Financier’ in 1997 and 1998. Before that he was a (senior) attorney of law at the Amsterdam and Hong Kong offices of Baker & McKenzie, responsible for (cross-border) M&A.

Bart studied International Trade Law as well as Business Economics at Tilburg/Rotterdam University. Bart also studied at the University of Notre Dame (USA) where he earned his Masters in International Law and Economics (LL.M).

Jürgen is Managing Partner in Capitalmind Investec and leads the Retail & Consumer Business, Logistics as well as the Restructuring practice in Germany.

He has been working in international M&A advisory in the Consumer Business sector for 20+ years. Before joining Capitalmind Investec, Jürgen was a founding partner of a M&A boutique and Co-head of the Deloitte M&A consumer practice.

Jürgen has profound expertise in the special situations M&A environment with focus on search of capital and financial restructuring, as well as M&A advisory in the context of insolvency proceedings (under self-administration/standard proceedings).

Before that, he was a co-founder of Outfitter GmbH (outfitter.com, focusing on pure online soccer & team sports retail) and Alpha Industries Europe GmbH (alphaindustries.com, focusing on wholesale distribution and manufacturing of apparel fashion lines to leading retailers such as Otto Group, Karstadt, Metro Group, Peek & Cloppenburg). He disposed his business to a German trading group  and is a member of various advisory boards.

He holds a diploma in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Darmstadt and is qualified as a CPA (State of Maine Board of Accountancy).

He is fluent in German and English.

Arne Laarveld is a Partner at Capitalmind Investec: he leads our FinTech team, and is also a senior member of the Industrial Technology team, especially focusing on the machine vision sector.

Arne has worked in corporate finance advisory for 20+ years, advising start-ups, (founder/family-owned) mid-caps and larger corporates, both private and public.

Before joining Capitalmind Investec, he was managing director and co-founder of boutique investment bank Equinet; and also served as corporate finance coordinator of both the M&A and ECM Group within the European Securities Network (ESN). Arne started his career in the corporate finance department of Dresdner Kleinwort (the investment banking division of Dresdner Bank) and served as assistant to the bank’s management board in Frankfurt and London.

Arne holds an economics degree from TU Berlin (Diplom-Kaufmann); mentors start-ups (Accelerator Frankfurt,  Frankfurt Goethe University) with a special focus on FinTechs; and speaks fluent German and English.

Thorsten is a Managing Partner of Capitalmind Investec, focused on debt advisory for both private equity-driven situations and in various corporate financings.

He has over 25 years experience in the European LBO markets and has arranged 100+ debt financings, ranging from EUR 50m to more than EUR 3bn in total debt. He also has strong connections to Germany‘s Mittelstand (ie. German mid-market companies that are usually family-owned).

Before joining the Wiesbaden office in October 2016, Thorsten was a Managing Director at Commerzbank AG., where he was head of the market-leading German Leveraged Finance group. He was previously a Director at UBS Investment Bank, in their private equity group; and with Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, where he started his career in leveraged finance in the early days of the German LBO market.

Thorsten holds a degree in Economics from the University of Hamburg (Diplom Kaufmann) and is fluent in German and English.
