Matthias is a Managing Partner of Capitalmind Investec, focused on the Healthcare and TMT sectors. He has been an M&A advisor for 20+ years, and leads our Berlin office, with direct access to some of the most dynamic and fastest-growing companies in Europe.

Before joining Capitalmind Investec, Matthias was a founding Partner of  a German M&A boutique, focused on transactions in the mid-market. And before that he spent 13 years with KPMG, where he rose to become Partner, leading the Healthcare sector in their corporate finance department. Matthias began his career as an IT-Consultant for Coopers & Lybrand.

He holds a degree in Economics from University of Bochum; and is fluent in German and English.

Florian joined Capitalmind Investec in October 2014.

Before he gained experience in the fields of corporate finance, M&A and risk management with mid-tier consulting firms as well as with KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft.

Florian graduated in Business Administration (B.A.) majoring in finance and management at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (BSEL). He then completed the Master’s program in International Finance (M.Sc.) at the BSEL in English successfully.

Christopher is a Director at Capitalmind Investec.

He’s involved in various M&A (sales, acquisitions, debt advisory) and LBO transactions.

He joined our Paris office in 2015 and has been appointed as Director in 2023. Prior to joining Capitalmind Investec, Christopher had gained experience in Corporate Finance at Gemalto and in M&A at Baycap, Capital Partner.

He graduated with a Master’s degree in Consulting and Financial engineering from ESSCA Business School.

Franco-Finnish, Christopher speaks French, English and Spanish.

Michael is a co-founder of Capitalmind Investec, with 30+ years of experience in investment banking. He focuses on the Healthcare, Business Services, and Consumer sectors.

Michael is a highly experienced M&A advisor, having successfully completed 100+ M&A and financing transactions in his career, including a wide range of clients: high-profile large-caps (eg. Deutsche Telekom and Lafarge); global financial sponsors (eg. BC Partners and Terra Firma); and many mid-cap or Mittelstand clients in the German market‘ (eg. Progroup AG, Wohnbau Mainz, Vivantes AG).

Before joining Capitalmind Investec Michael held a number of senior roles, including Managing Director at Citigroup; and Co-Head of M&A Germany at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson.

At Citigroup, he was also Head of Salomon Smith Barney’s Investment Banking Germany, a board member of Salomon Brothers AG  and a member of the Global and European Investment Banking Committee in New York and London.

Michael is a member of the board of trustees of “Rheingau Musik Festival”.

Michael holds a bachelor degree from Hochschule Mainz – University of Applied Sciences. He is fluent in German and English.

 

Ervin is Managing Partner, Board Director and co-founder of Capitalmind Investec. He focuses on the Industrial technology & technical business services sector.

For more than 27 years Ervin has acted as a trusted advisor to the boards and owners of mid-cap and large-cap companies, on 90+ complex mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financings and buyout transactions – worth a total volume of several billion euros.

Ervin also serves on the advisory board of Hochrein GmbH, a private German technology holding; and is a member of the board of trustees of “Junge Deutsche Philharmonie” as well as “Rheingau Music Festival”.

Ervin is fluent in German, English and Slovene.

Before founding Capitalmind Investec, Ervin held several senior positions at leading private equity and investment banking firms such as Duke Street Capital, London, a €3 bn alternative asset manager focused on middle market equity and debt investments, where he served as Managing Partner of their GSA business and Citigroup’s Salomon Smith Barney, where he was part of the senior team in their Industrials investment banking group leading their European automotive investment banking team out of London.

Ervin holds a master’s degree in business administration from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt. He is married and has two children.

 

Jan Willem is a Managing Partner and Board Director of Capitalmind Investec, which he co-founded in 1999. He has 25+ years experience in M&A, and has successfully closed 100+ deals (mainly cross-border), focusing on Consumer/Food, Business Services and TMT. Jan Willem speaks Dutch, English, German and French.

Before Jan Willem founded Capitalmind Investec, he was a corporate banker and regional director commercial banking for ABN AMRO Amsterdam, managing several branch offices.

Jan Willem is also a guest lecturer at Tilburg University; Chairman of one of the oldest football & cricket clubs in the Netherlands, HC & FC Victoria 1893; and from 2009 until 2015, Chairman of the Dutch Corporate Finance Association.

He has a degree in Marketing & Business Administration from Wageningen University, and later earned his second license in Financial Economics and International Business in Antwerp, Belgium.

Marleen is a Partner of Capitalmind Investec and joined the company in 2009. In the period 2019-2021, Marleen has temporarily worked from the San Francisco / Silicon Valley region in the US.

The last 10+ years Marleen successfully closed over 50 (crossborder) deals, naturally in several sectors including business services, TMT and industrials. Her main responsibilities include advising on sell-side transactions, funding, MBOs and company acquisitions. Marleen was chosen as number 1 female dealmaker within M&A community based on number of deals.

Besides Dutch, Marleen is fluent in English.

Between 2005 and 2009 Marleen worked at another corporate finance firm as well as a family office active in a broad range of financial services, where she was responsible for M&A. From 2010 to 2017 Marleen was an active member of Junior Chamber International in Tilburg, part of that period she had a position as board member.

Marleen Vermeer studied Business Economics at Tilburg University and graduated on the topic ‘Businesss Valuation’.

Ron is a Managing Partner of Capitalmind Investec,. He joined Capitalmind Investec in 2002 and focuses on the TMT/Ecommerce and Business Services.  At present Ron has 25+ years experience in M&A. During his carreer Ron has to date successfully closed over 135 transactions.

Before Capitalmind Investec, Ron was an independent corporate finance advisor and venture capitalist. He previously worked at ABN AMRO and co-founded hedge fund GO Capital. During his time at ABN AMRO Ron specialized in IPOs and M&A for technology companies. At the moment Ron left ABN AMRO he was Global Sector Director for Technology Research. In that position he was responsible for a team of more than 20 analysts across 15 countries. In 1999, Ron’s team ranked 2nd in Reuters’ ‘small company research poll’.

Over the years Ron has been a non-executive boardmember or part of the advisory board at various companies. Currently he has an non-executive role at Gynzy, Origina and personalised gifts e-commerce business Simply Colors / Bulbby. Before, Ron’s was actively involved with eBuddy, Kahuna, Media Republic, NetMedia Europe, Springest, Tridion and Unet.

Ron holds a degree in Technical Information Science. Ron is fluent in Dutch, English and speaks German.

Michel is Managing Partner and Board Director of Capitalmind Investec, which he founded in 1999. He is also head of the Paris office.

He has worked in M&A for 20+ years, as the lead dealmaker on more than 100 transactions advised on behalf of Capitalmind Investec, including divestitures, buy-outs, financings and acquisitions. Michel assists all types of clients, from large corporates to entrepreneurs, families and private equity houses.

He acted as board member and then chairman of the supervisory board of Davey Bickford, a €80m revenue high-tech family group, which ran a buy-out with Argos Soditic in 2007 and was sold in 2015 to the Chilean group ENAEX.

He has a deep understanding of company strategies and international deal-making – notably in Business Services, Industrials, and Food & Agro.

He holds an MBA from ESSEC Business School. He is fluent in French and English.

Jean-Arthur is a Managing Partner of Capitalmind Investec.

He’s been actively involved in the development of the Paris office, which he joined in the early days in 2001.

He teams up with business owners, corporations & financial investors on supporting them in accelerating, financing and monetizing their business assets. Over the past 20 years, Jean-Arthur has been assisting clients across the TMT and Business Services sectors, and now leads our TMT practice (eg IT services, business software) in France.

He holds an MBA from ESSEC Business School. He is fluent in French, English, and speaks German.

Nicolas is a Managing Partner of Capitalmind Investec.

He’s been actively involved in the development of the Paris office, which he joined in the early days in 2003.

He teams up with large corporates, entrepreneurs, families and private equity houses on supporting them in accelerating, financing and monetizing their business assets (through divestitures, carve outs, and buy-outs). Over the past 20 years, Nicolas has been assisting clients across the Industrials and Business Services sectors. He also gained significant expertise into sub-sectors such as Beauty, Personal & Home Care, Animal Care and specialty chemicals.

As Franco-German, he also enjoys working with French businesses on expanding their operations in the German market.

He holds an MBA from EM Lyon Business School.

He is fluent in French, English and German.

Alexandre is a Managing Partner of Capitalmind Investec, which he joined in 2014.

Alexandre leads our Consumer & Retail sector in France, leveraging a 20+ years experience in M&A, private equity and financial auditing.

Alexandre started his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen, before becoming Investment Director at Genairgy – a family-owned financial investor founded by Decathlon Group‘s founding shareholders. He was also Head of M&A at Decathlon Group, focused on acquisitions in emerging markets (China, India, Brazil).

Alexandre holds an MBA from Neoma (Rouen Business School); and speaks fluent French and English.

Thibault is a Managing Partner of Capitalmind Investec.

He joined our Parisian team in 2010 and has great experience in finance, M&A and private equity. He’s been involved in many transactions with a focus on Business Services & Food & Agro sectors.

Thibault started his career working as a private equity analyst at XAnge (French Private Equity fund) and within the Investment Banking Department of Société Générale.

He graduated as engineer from EFREI and post-graduated in finance from EM Lyon Business School. Thibault speaks French and English.

Guillaume is a Managing Partner of Capitalmind Investec. He joined our Paris office in 2013.

Guillaume has been involved in several transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and fundraising projects. He mainly operates in the Industrial, Business Services and Food & Agro sectors with a specific expertise in cross-border transactions.

Prior to joining Capitalmind Investec Guillaume had gained experience in Financial Consulting, Private Equity and M&A (PWC, Access Capital Partners…).

He graduated from Audencia Nantes (France) and Maastricht University (the Netherlands). Guillaume speaks French, English, Dutch and German.

Kilian is a Managing Partner of Capitalmind Investec.

Kilian re-joined our Paris office in 2015, after three years as CFO of Yellow Korner – a leading art photography editor and distributor in France. Before that, he spent four years at Capitalmind Investec, where he had the opportunity to work on a wide range of transactions (divestitures, buy-outs, financings and acquisitions).

He teams up with business owners, corporations & financial investors on supporting them in accelerating, financing and ultimately monetizing their business assets. Over the past 10 years, he has been assisting clients across the Business Services and Healthcare sectors. He is also a senior member of our “Debt Advisory” practice, and leads our Transport & Logistics sub-sector coverage.

He graduated from Paris Dauphine University, and also holds an Advanced Masters degree in Corporate Finance from EM Lyon Business School.

He speaks fluent French, English as well as German.
