About the deal
Founded in 2004 by Sam Maloigne, and located in Beauvais, Samshield started in the design and distribution of horse-riding helmets. Thanks to its strong brand image and international footprint (more than 80% of sales are generated outside of France), Samshield has successfully undertaken product diversification by launching a line of technical apparel.
Samshield welcomes Initiative & Finance as a minority shareholder to support its growth projects: (i) broaden product portfolio and (ii) foster its development on the North American market.
With 35 portfolio companies and over 340 deals carried out since its inception in 1984 (management buy-out, owner buy-out, management buy-in, build-up, etc.), Initiative & Finance is a major private equity player in France.
What we did
Capitalmind Investec has assisted Philippe Maloigne, Samshield’s sole shareholder, throughout the transaction process: defining the transaction scope, designing deal tactics in a challenging market, approaching the most relevant investors, setting up the right degree of competitive pressure in order to maximize the terms of the transaction and find the best partner to support the growth projects.
