The Rheingau Music Festival is one of the largest music festivals in Europe and organises over 170 concerts every year throughout the region from Frankfurt and Wiesbaden to the Middle Rhine Valley.

Every summer, unique cultural monuments such as Eberbach Monastery, Johannisberg Castle, Vollrads Castle or the Wiesbaden Kurhaus as well as picturesque wineries are transformed into concert stages for stars of the international classical music scene and interesting up-and-coming artists from classical music and jazz to cabaret and world music.

For over 30 years, the Rheingau and its festival have been a centre of attraction for music lovers from all over the world in a unique interplay of culture and nature, music, enjoyment and joie de vivre.

This year, the Rheingau Music Festival 2022 will take place from 25 June to 3 September 2022. The 35th “Summer of Music” promises 70 days full of top-class and varied concerts at the usual beautiful venues in the Rheingau.

You can especially look forward to the focus artists this year: the renowned violinist Julia Fischer, the outstanding pianist Jan Lisiecki and the celebrated jazz drummer Wolfgang Haffner. In addition to the traditional German boys’ choirs from Regensburg to Leipzig, the composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, whose death anniversary will be 175 in 2022, is also the focus of the programme this year.

In addition, international greats such as Herbert Blomstedt, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Jonas Kaufmann, Avi Avital, Daniil Trifonov, Gabriela Montero and Christoph Eschenbach will make their way to you and transform the Rheingau into a summer concert stage.
