Capitalmind has advised BIC throughout the acquisition process, from preparatory works prior NBO submission to final negotiations with the seller. Capitalmind supported BIC’s internal teams and external advisors to implement this strategic project, assisting on business plan modelling, valuation, deal structuring, internal approval documentation, due diligences monitoring and legal documentation negotiations.
About the deal
Founded in 1973 in France, Djeep is a leading manufacturer of quality lighters. The company distributes over 30 million lighters per year, mostly in Europe, but also in the U.S., Latin America, Middle East, Africa, and Asia. It has become a key supplier of the decorated lighters market thanks to its large tank shape.

The acquisition of Djeep – for 40 million euros, and a deferred consideration based on Djeep future sales growth – aims at strengthening BIC’s position on the safety-compliant branded pocket lighters market and offers substantial growth opportunities in Europe and North America.
