About the deal

Lavance sells, installs, maintains and operates carwash equipment for cars and trucks in France. It mainly distributes Istobal equipment, one of the world’s leading manufacturers in the industry. Lavance has one of the largest network of specialized technicians in the field and operates numerous carwash spaces under its home brand Superjet and on behalf of customers in the oil or retail sector. With 300 employees in France, the company generated €60 M in 2019.

The group, founded in 1979 and headquartered in Rennes, has been sold by Sofival to Alcopa.

Sofival is an investment company, ran by the Blas and Lemoine families, operating in 3 main activities: the management of ski areas, real estate investment – in particular within the hotel industry – and private equity.

Alcopa is a family-owned investment firm headquartered in Belgium. Its origin dates back to 1937 when Albert Moorkens set up a company to produce and distribute motorcycles. Over the years, it grew from its automotive roots to become a diversified holding that invests in private companies in Western Europe.
