About the deal

E-commerce company Sparkles acquired Simply Colors to expand its portfolio centered around party cards. The transaction also includes Simply Colors’ label Bulbby, which sells personalized gifts.

Sparkles has been active since 2011 with brands such as Hip Birth Cards, Made for Moments and Pretty Orange in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. In addition, over sixty webshops use Sparkles’ platform via white label. Sparkles is part of printing company Koninklijke Em. de Jong group. That also operates in France, England and Ireland.

Simply Colors / Bulbby specializes in personalized products and gifts in the baby and young children’s market.

The buyer’s ambition is to become the market leader in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. They see growth opportunities in assortment expansion and in sales growth internationally.
