About the deal

Based on high-quality standards, a longstanding customer base and an innovative vision to create a universal lab for gynegological cytology in Switzerland, Dr. Rinderknecht has built a unique platform in the Swiss lab market. With the new partner Unilabs, offering very complementary services and a strong sales team, the growth strategy will be further accelerated. This transaction illustrates the increasing relevance of specialized labs for doctors and further confirms the consolidation trend in this segment by pan-European strategic players.

Unilabs is one of Europe’s largest and fastest-growing diagnostics companies. It offers a complete range of laboratory, pathology and imaging services for patients all around the world. With 12,000 employees across 110 imaging centers and 250 labs in 16 countries, it performs close to four million lab tests a week.

What we did

Capitalmind Investec actively supported the founder and owner of Labor Dr. Rinderknecht AG as exclusive advisor along the entire sell-side process: marketing materials preparation, screening and selection of the relevant strategic and financial buyers through a competitive process, management of the due diligence and negotiation of terms and conditions of the deal plus ultimate closing of the transaction.
