About the deal
Following a strategic review, Eurosérum has decided to sell its international operations to simplify its industrial footprint and to focus on high value-added nutritional ingredients.
Fully-owned by Sodiaal, the leading French dairy cooperative (with 4,7 billion liters of milk collected in 2019), Eurosérum is specialized in whey and milk drying and processing (300,000 tons per year of dairy ingredients) with applications in infant formula and food processing (ice creams, milk drinks, bakery, pastries etc.). The company operates 9 facilities in France and, until August 2020, one in Czech Republic, which produced 15,000 tons of whey annually.
After a competitive process led by Capitalmind, the Eastern European activities of Eurosérum were sold to Eligo. Eligo is a Czech company also engaged in the drying & processing of dairy products and which, in addition to being locally anchored, has a robust industrial project for the site.
What we did
Capitalmind assisted Eurosérum all along the disposal process: identifying carve-out issues, advising transaction strategy, qualifying potential buyers, and organizing a competitive bid up to closing.
This transaction further strengthens Capitalmind’s expertise in the food & agro industry, and illustrates our ability to assist agricultural cooperatives.
